Modern Family's F-Bomb Episode: Were You Upset

It was the bleeped-out toddler f-bomb heard around the world.

Lily, the 2-year-old daughter of Mitchell and Cameron on ABC's Modern Family, uttered the expletive (more than once, including repeatedly during a church wedding) on Wednesday's episode, as part of a plotline dramatizing the challenges parents face when their children start cursing.

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who is actually 4, plays Lily, and was reportedly asked to say the word "fudge" during the taping. But that hasn't stopped critics from blasting the network for the episode.

"It is certainly in poor taste," Melissa Henson of the Parents Television Council told Fox News before the episode aired. "Since television is constantly adding to the likelihood that children will be exposed to this kind of language, we will naturally see more and more children eventually emulate that behavior."

But Modern Family creator and executive producer Steven Levitan told EW.com last week: "We thought it was a very natural story since, as parents, we've all been through this. We are not a sexually charged show. It has a very warm tone, so people accept it more. I'm sure we'll have some detractors."
