Buddy's attitude was an example of being positive this week. That's in contrast to Conda for sure. When watching the episode at home, I cringed at the way she was acting towards Dolvett and applaud him for kicking her out of the gym. While everyone has good days and bad, Conda clearly was disrupting the team and she needed an "attitude adjustment," as my dad would say.
Similarly, Gail continued to give Bob a big challenge because she wasn't working as hard as she could and Bob knew that. That is the incredible thing about working with a trainer, especially one as experienced as Bob – you get pushed to your potential, which is often way farther than you thought possible.
Each week, the contestants face different challenges. It's during weeks like this that I so applaud the hard work and determination of the show's trainers. Rather than ever giving up, Bob and Dolvett both give and give of themselves until they finally are able to break through to their contestants and the results are always incredible.
This week, Dolvett's breakthrough with Conda resulted in her 10-lb. weight loss that helped the red team win the weigh-in and forced the black team to send another player home. Dolvett's reaction to her weight loss and their victory was incredible, and I think it rivaled Bob's excitement last season when Sunny lost so much weight after her week at home in Texas with him.
While the black team did lose the weigh-in, their weight loss did prove that the excuse of not being able to lose weight without a gym is just an excuse. Despite cold weather, and without any of the tools found in a gym, Bob's team managed to lose 52 lbs., including a few double-digit weight losses.
While I'm training for the L.A. Marathon, I too am finding that you don't need a gym to get in shape. Between runs, stretches and other workouts I'm doing outside, I'm in the best shape of my life and doing most of my work outside. Sorry, East Coast, but in L.A. you can do that in the winter!
So now, for my favorite moment of the week – I think it was Dolvett telling Conda he needed to show her something and it being the door to leave the gym. While it seems harsh, Dolvett made a point to Conda and it proved to be the right way for him to handle the situation.
I know some of you have very strong opinions of Conda so what did you think of Dolvett's move? Was that your favorite moment of the week too?
