They haven't walked down the aisle yet, but Drew Barrymore and her fiancé, Will Kopelman, looked like they were already on an extended honeymoon at the afterparty for her new movie Big Miracle Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

"They were very affectionate the whole night, holding hands and turning into each other to have their own intimate conversations," says an eyewitness. "He never left her side. They were a team from the beginning to the end."

While Barrymore mingled with partygoers – many of whom were family members of fallen soldiers – Drew would always "introduce and encourage her fiancé to be part of the action," says one onlooker. (Her other mission? Kindly asking the children at the party not to reveal the film's ending.)

The only downside to the night? Barrymore was so busy chatting with guests that she did not have a chance to sample the the wild Alaskan sockeye salmon on D.C. chef Robert Wiedmaier's menu – selected as a nod to the film's Alaskan setting. Fortunately, the party organizers made a special plate for her to enjoy afterwards. "She rubbed her hands and looked delighted," says the source.

Also on the menu: salmon rillettes on a baguette and cured salmon with Asian spices and a citrus emulsion. Says Chef Wiedmaier of the menu: "Being a hunter and fisherman who aims to honor the produce that I find, I have a strong appreciation of the beauty of the land and sea in Alaska, and especially, the purity of the fish found in Alaska waters."
