Chris Brown will make a comeback on the very stage he was expected to grace three years ago, at the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Only back then, instead of performing, the R&B artist surrendered to police, which marked the beginning of a domestic violence drama that revealed a darker side of his relationship with then-girlfriend Rihanna.
But now Brown, 22, is due at this year's ceremony, a source tells the Associated
Press.
Brown, who is still serving five years' probation for the felony attack that occurred when he assaulted Rihanna, 23, before the 2009 Grammy ceremony, is nominated for three awards this year for F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies), including a nod for best R&B album.
Rihanna, whom Brown dated about a year before the abuse charges made headlines, is also due to take the stage at the Grammys, where she's nominated for four awards, including album of the year for Loud – and she's also up against
Brown in the best rap song category.
