Lion Cubs Pounce on Public Debut
That was only item on the to-do list for two Asiatic lion cubs born Nov. 13 at the Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam.
The still-nameless pair – a boy and a girl – explored their outdoor enclosure for the first time Wednesday with their mother, Shantee, as a slew of spectators looked on.
The curious lions spent their public debut pouncing, sniffing, balancing on logs and licking each other silly. Apparently, all that fun made them dog-tired: the day ended with a cuddle pile, visible on the zoo's live-stream of the lions' indoor den.
