Who's at the center of Hollywood's hottest bro-mance? Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, that's who – or, perhaps they should now be referred to as, "Joning?"

The two actors admit they definitely bonded while shooting their new film 21 Jump Street, and at Tuesday's Grauman's Chinese Theater premiere they unabashedly reveled in the qualities they admire most in each other.

"I've never met anyone like Jonah that can go in and literally win an entire room and get away with just about anything," Tatum, 31, tells PEOPLE.

"It's like he could punch somebody in the face and somehow he would keep him laughing about it – he's like, 'It's fine. It's fine. I just punched you in the face. It's cool. Don't even worry.' And they would just laugh about it."

As for why he admires that ability in Hill, Tatum says, "I can't do that – I'd get beat up! Somehow he's got like the Midas touch."

For his part, Hill says he's impressed by Tatum's easygoing nature.

"I was actually on the Tonight Show today, and some reality-show woman saw Channing on a plane and she said, 'I think Channing's mad at me because I Tweeted he was on the plane,' " says Hill, 28. "And I was like, 'That's not true, because I've never seen Channing be mad at anybody.' "

Christopher Miller who co-directed Jump Street, an action comedy based on the late-'80s FOX series, says the natural chemistry and friendship between his two stars was obvious by the third week of shooting, while co-director Phil Lord says, "They love each other – they have a for-real romance."

Others saw it, too. "White men love bro-mances, man," costar Ice Cube says with a laugh. "They are very into it. God bless 'em. Hopefully they'll be happy together."

21 Jump Street hits theaters Friday, March 16.
