In her 2010 book Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude
, Shannen Doherty said she had no regrets about her rocky past "because it's made me who I am today." But thinking about it more closely, she wishes she could do things differently after all.
"My parents raised me better than [the person I portrayed in the media], and I regret ever hurting my parents," the former Beverly Hills, 90210
actress, 40, said on an episode of The Talk
that aired Tuesday. "What's funny is the older you get, the more honest [with yourself] I think you actually become."
Also on her list of regrets is lost job prospects. (Watch the interview below.)
"I sit here and go, 'Wow, did I blow some major opportunities?' " she says. "I [blew] some huge opportunities in my career [that] I've had to work very, very hard to try and get back."
Moving forward from her catfights and failed marriages
that filled tabloid pages when she was much younger, Doherty is now happier than ever, recently telling PEOPLE
that married life with photographer hubby Kurt Iswarienko is "phenomenal."
The trials and tribulations that led up to their picturesque Oct. 2011 Malibu, Calif., nuptials have been documented for WEtv's reality series, Shannen Says
which premieres on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.
