Marc Anthony is making his split from Jennifer Lopez official.
The musician, 43, filed for divorce on April 9 from the American Idol judge, 42, according to documents filed at Los Angeles Superior Court. The duo's separation date is listed as "to be determined," but they publicly announced their breakup in July.
Citing irreconcilable differences, Anthony requests joint legal and physical custody of the couples' twins Max and Emme, 4. He is asking the court to deny her spousal support, should it be requested from Lopez.
The exes, who wed in Beverly Hills in 2004, continue working together on their Latin music and dance competition series, Q'Viva! The Chosen.
Anthony has hired noted family law attorney Daniel Jaffe, who has represented Anne Heche and Kimora Lee Simmons and whose firm has repped Brad Pitt, Robin Wright and Christina Aguilera's ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
A rep for Lopez had no comment.
