Britney Spears Joins The X Factor

Britney Spears is coming to TV.

Following months of speculation surrounding the possibility that the pop star might be a judge The X Factor, the singer has signed a deal for to be a judge on the show, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

"There's been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she's on," a source tells E! Online. "It's all completed and Britney is beyond excited."

Reps for the show and Fox TV had no comment.

In March, Simon Cowell, who is the show's executive producer and head judge, said he was "flattered" that Spears was interested in joining the show, but revealed little about the negotiations.

"I've learned a big lesson," he said at the time. "Keep your mouth shut. Don't give it all away."

Cowell and L.A. Reid will also sit at the judges' table. Spears will help fill the open spots created when Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul left the show.
