For a movie about male strippers, the trailer for Magic Mike (watch below) offers an appropriately tantalizing tease – and allows Channing Tatum to show off the moves he perfected in that line of work once upon a time.
From the moment it begins, the trailer is the Channing show, as he leads costar Alex Pettyfer into an all-girl party dressed as police officers.
Soon, we see Tatum, 31 – as the title character – grinding, break-dancing, flipping and spinning on stage at a strip club, putting on a bravura performance for an adoring crowd. (Only later does it become clear that he's conflicted about his career.)
Also making a saucy showing is Matthew McConaughey, playing the strip club's owner, who delivers the signature line in the trailer: "The law says you cannot touch, but I see a lot of lawbreakers out there," he says to a frenzied female audience.
Pettyfer, as Magic Mike's protégé, and Joe Manganiello get some screen time, too, as does Cody Horn, who plays Pettyfer's sister and Tatum's love interest.
The movie, directed by Steven Soderbergh, opens June 29.
