Mark Deklin never considered himself a small dog person – until he brought home two Brussels griffons named Oscar and Zoe.
"They have big dog hearts. They're not little hide-in-the-purse-and-be-fluffy dogs," the GCB star tells PEOPLE of the hypoallergenic pups that he adopted with his wife a few years ago. "They have big personalities – really big personalities. Too big sometimes."
Thankfully, the couple's house is just big enough for the dynamic duo. "Zoe is like my sensitive teenager," he says. "I always feel like if she was human she would be wearing black up in her room listening to Tori Amos."
Lovable Oscar takes a back seat to his older sibling, but gets by on his good looks. "He's just sort of cute but dim," Deklin says. "He knows he's cute and he trades on that."
As "mouthy" as Zoe may be sometimes, Deklin is definitely a small dog convert. "Their hearts and their spirits are fantastic," he says. "I love those dogs."
