Estrella Carrera's Husband Wanted by FBI
The FBI has issued a federal warrant for Arnoldo Jimenez, the Chicago Tribune reports. "The warrant was issued on the fact that Jimenez will or has fled the boundaries of the State of Illinois," Burbank police said in a news release.
Carrera was found stabbed to death in her bathtub last weekend, still wearing her wedding dress.
Jimenez has been charged with first-degree murder, the Tribune reports, and the federal warrant reveals more clues about what happened to Carrera.
"On May 13, 2012, Jimenez spoke with his sister by telephone, telling her he and Carrera had a bad fight and he left her bleeding," according to the warrant. A "close associate" of Jimenez also told authorities that Jimenez said "he was leaving the state of Illinois and if questioned by law enforcement, the associate should tell law enforcement he went to Mexico."
Burbank Police Capt. Joe Ford told the Tribune that authorities have received more than 300 tips regarding the case, most of which have been car sightings. Jimenez was last seen driving a black Maserati sedan.
Jimenez is the father of Carrera's 2-year-old son. The slain bride also had a 9-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
The AP reported earlier this week that authorities had encouraged Jiminez to "turn himself in for the sake of his family and especially his children."
