FIRST LOOK: Daniel Craig in Latest James Bond Movie Trailer
James Bond is back, hunky, handsome and shirtless as ever, and once again played by Daniel Craig, in his third outing as Agent 007.
Unveiled on Monday: the trailer for Bond's 23rd screen adventure, Skyfall, due in U.S. theaters Nov. 9, and costarring Javier Bardem and French actress Bérénice Marlohe as the new Bond Girl, named Severine.
In the brief film clip, Bond/Craig is shown against a variety of international locations, while a location posting states that the production is currently in Turkey. Scenes were recently shot in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, where nearly half a century ago Sean Connery's Bond first encountered Turkish ally Kerim Bey (Pedro Armendériz) and blonde Bond Girl Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi), for the classic From Russia, with Love.
In Skyfall, say production notes, Bond's loyalty to M – Dame Judi Dench, who has suggested in recent interviews that this may be her last appearance in an 007 movie – is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. "As MI6 comes under attack," say the notes, "Bond must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."
Skyfall had been placed on hold when its studio, MGM, encountered financing problems – great to know even James Bond can overcome those. As for Craig, 44, he spent the time wisely. Not only did he star in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but he married Rachel Weisz.
