Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher don't have parenthood in their immediate future, but Fisher already knows his wife will make a great mother.
In their first television interview together, the couple talked to Oprah Winfrey for the latest episode of Oprah's Next Chapter, where the host asked Underwood a deeply personal question: "Who are you, really?"
"I'm a happy person," said the country star. "I feel like I want to do good in the world. I want to make people proud of me. I'm a daughter, I'm a wife, I'm a mom to my dogs."
The dogs, Ace and Penny, made a brief appearance on the show, which was filmed at the couple's Tennessee weekend hideaway. Ace, a rat terrier, was part of the wedding party when Underwood and Fisher wed in 2010, and Underwood has said that Ace is "a blessing. He is a part of me."
When asked about Underwood's nurturing qualities – and how she would be with the couple's future children – Fisher replied, "I always say that if she treats her kids half as good as she treats the dogs, they'll be in great shape."
The feeling was mutual for Underwood. "He's going to be the best dad ever," she said. "That makes the whole parent situation seem much, much better."
