The Bachelorette's Charlie Grogan: There Are Fake Guys & Opportunists

Still feeling the effects of the experience, Grogan, 32, a Nashville-based recruiter, spoke with reporters about his surprising fate, his thoughts on what went wrong and who seems right for Emily.
Here's what he had to say.
Were you expecting to be eliminated?
Getting sent home was a shocker, because I didn't feel some of the guys left were as suitable for her. I am a lot better person than some of those guys. I've never been the guy to name names, but there are guys who are fake and who are there for other opportunities that can come out of being on a TV show.
Time with Emily seemed tight. Could not getting enough have been your undoing?
I had my fair share of time with her on the group dates, enough that I felt I should still be hanging around, but I never had the opportunity to have that one-on-one intimate time. Maybe that was my downfall. I could have talked to her more about personal things.
Why didn't you?
It never seemed like the time or place. It was always group dates, a lounge, a bar. I think the Bermuda atmosphere would have allowed me to pick her brain more and she could have learned more about my story. That would have definitely carried me on to the next round.
Do you think you were a good match for each other?
It's hard to tell, because I don't know what was going through her mind and because your comfort zone isn't there because of the lights, cameras and people standing around. Maybe there wasn't a spark or maybe she has to have a [certain] persona for the show, but sometimes conversations weren't flowing and it felt like I was talking to a wall. I had actually met her years ago through mutual friends and she acted a lot different then.
Did she remember you?
She knew my face and remembered me but didn't know how or when. [I explained] that it was a birthday party and we'd had a good time. It was a cute conversation they didn't show.
What are your thoughts on Ryan and Kalon?
I got along with Ryan off camera. We had conversations that made me feel like he was a good guy. I never got along with Kalon. He was standoffish and was never the guy to come get involved with us. I can tell that he had more going on than we knew. I'm learning a lot more about him from watching.
Who might be the best man for her?
From Day One, I thought Sean was a great guy. Travis is a fun-loving, outgoing personality. I had a really good man-cry one night, and Wolf and I had a really good talk. We found out we were brothers from another mother. Those dudes never really got involved in the petty [stuff].
