Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita haven't exactly been close lately, but no one could have predicted that their issues run this deep.

Case in point: On last night's episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, viewers were treated to a hefty Teresa vs. Jacqueline showdown which started innocently ... but ended disastrously.

The drama started when Jacqueline invited Teresa over for a frank conversation about their friendship. She had seen some of the tabloid headlines about Teresa supposedly going to jail and was genuinely worried for her friend – but Teresa wasn't having it.

Instead of owning up to her problems, Teresa denied any wrongdoing and attacked Jacqueline. "I don't know if Jacqueline's crazy, if Jacqueline's psycho," she said. "Something's going on with Jacqueline."

Jacqueline retaliated by bringing up Teresa's alleged Twitter conversation with former New Jersey villain Danielle Staub from the previous night, asking her, "What made you hate me that much that you would Tweet someone who hates me that much?"

Things only went downhill from there. Teresa continued to deny all of Jacqueline's accusations, including the accusation that Teresa had insulted her own sister-in-law Melissa Gorga. (She had.) Instead of responding with a cogent argument, however, Teresa sputtered and chalked it all up to Melissa being "jealous." She also cursed up a storm.

Later, fellow housewife Caroline Manzo joined the argument – which only made matters worse. Caroline reiterated to Teresa that they are no longer friends. Naturally, Jacqueline took this opportunity to hit Teresa while she was down, announcing that she is going to distance herself from Teresa and her family "for [her] health." Ouch. Despite Jacqueline's sweet kiss goodbye to Teresa, we all know that there's going to be a long road of recovery for these former best friends.
