When PEOPLE senior writer Jen Garcia went to interview Jack Osbourne, who was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, "I had no idea what to expect," she says.

But she was pleasantly surprised to see that Osbourne, 26, was both calm and optimistic. "He certainly doesn't want people to feel sorry for him," adds Garcia.
