Grilled Salmon and Grilled Shrimp

With July 4 here, you're probably already set for an Independence Day party. But here's a thought: Why not skip the standard BBQ pulled pork and hot dogs and opt for something new, fun and – dare we say it – healthy?

Facebook just released a list of the social network's 15 most-shared recipes, and the entrees, all on Foodily, are surprisingly nutritious.

Instead of gunning for big fatty burgers, people are grilling up salmon steaks and sliders – and they're looking delicious!

Here are two meals we'll be most likely feasting upon, as well as links to the other 13 recipes (just in case these two aren't for you). Bon appetit!



Honey Ginger Grilled Salmon

• ½ cup orange juice
• ½ cup soy sauce
• ¼ cup honey
• 1 tsp. ginger, ground
• 1 tsp. garlic powder
• 1 green onion, chopped
• 1 ½ lbs. salmon fillets
Mix all ingredients, except salmon, in a small bowl. Place salmon in a large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add marinade; turn salmon until well-coated. Refrigerate 15 minutes (or longer, for extra flavor.) Remove salmon from marinade. Grill over medium-high heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until fish flakes easily with a fork.



Tom Yum Grilled Shrimp

• 1 lb. shrimp, peeled
• 2 stalks lemongrass, peeled and chopped (or lemon zest)
• 3 cloves garlic
• 1 galangal, peeled and chopped (or ginger)
• 1 birds eye chili (or hot chili, or 1 tsp. chili sauce)
• ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
• 1 lime, juice and zest
• 2 green onions, sliced
• ½ tsp. shrimp paste
• 2 tbs. fish sauce
• 2 tbs. oil
• 2 tbs. palm sugar
Place the lemon grass, garlic, galangal, chili, cilantro, lime juice and zest, green onions, shrimp paste, fish sauce, oil and palm sugar in a food processor and process. Marinate the shrimp in the paste for at least 10 minutes. Skewer the shrimp. Grill until cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.
