It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere: Beat the Heatwave with a 'Sparkling' Cosmo

It isn't a party in the U.S.A. without a few fireworks – and a star-spangled cocktail.

And since July 4 fell midweek, the "party like it's 1776" must happen over the weekend. Try this patriotic take on the classic Cosmo while beating the heat!

Sparkling Rouge Cosmopolitan

• 1½ oz. vodka
• ½ oz. triple sec (recipe recommends Cointreau)
• ½ oz. fresh lime juice
• ¾ oz. sparkling cranberry juice (recipe recommends Cascal Ripe Rouge Soft Drink, which features notes of cherry, rose and chocolate)
Shake all the ingredients with ice, except soft drink. Add juice or Cascal over ice and stir gently. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
