Looks like Catching Fire is heating up: Philip Seymour Hoffman has just been cast as Plutarch Heavensbee in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins's bestselling novel.
Heavensbee, who replaces Seneca Crane as the new Head Gamemaker in the second installment of the Hunger Games trilogy, is a pretty complicated guy. After all, you never really know whether he's friend or foe until the very end of the book.
But complex roles are nothing new for the Oscar winner, 44, as shown by The Ides of March, Moneyball and Capote (for which he was named Best Actor).
No word yet on who's going to play hunky Finnick in Fire – which will also star Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth.
Tell us, Hunger Games fans, what you think of Hoffman's casting.
