Celebrities might be experts when it comes to working the red carpet, but relying on them to guide your health and wellness can be a slippery slope.
As someone who has worked with almost 200 stars, I understand the value of having a celebrity endorse your products.
I've dedicated my career to catering to the diet and fitness needs of my clients. From preparing food riders (amenities requested by talent) for music clients to designing exercise equipment and healthy snacks specifically for actors on set, my goal has always been to facilitate healthy living to my clients wherever they may be.
With that being said, it’s interesting to see how celebrity-endorsed diets have become a trend.

, it seems successful weight loss companies use their marketing budgets to invest in star power. After the success of Jennifer Hudson
's campaign with Weight Watchers
, the company increased their marketing budget to a whopping $130 million dollars.
While some celebrities endorse products that promote healthy living, others promote products that may prove dangerous. From questionable weight loss supplements to protein-infused alcohols, many products contain undisclosed ingredients that can pose major risks including heart palpitations and even death.
My concern is that well meaning people trying to get in shape don’t understand the inherent risks of certain weight loss tactics and are entrusting the wrong people with their lives.
My advice? Don’t believe everything you hear.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you want to improve your health, talk to your doctor about diet counseling and daily exercise.
