Daytime TV's favorite husband just got a little scarier.
Former All My Children star (and Kelly Ripa's doting husband), Mark Consuelos has joined the cast of FX's American Horror Story for season 2, EW.com reports.
Consuelos will play Spivey, a patient admitted to an institution for the criminally insane in the 1960s.
Jessica Lange (who won a Golden Globe for her role as Constance Langdon in the show's debut season), James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Zachary Quinto, Adam Levine, Chloë Sevigny and Lizzie Brochere also are all slated to appear on season 2 of the series.
American Horror Story is produced and created by Ryan Murphy, who also developed Popular, Nip/Tuck and Glee. Last year, the series premiered to rave reviews, and was named the biggest new cable series of the year on FX.
