Randy Travis Arrest: Hear the 911 Call
Randy Travis, after his Aug. 7 arrest
It wasn't a sight you see every day.

When Randy Travis was arrested for an alcohol-related offense Tuesday, Texas police found him naked after crashing his car. Now, the 911 call that led the police to Travis has been released, revealing a caller who reports finding a "guy lying in the road."

The caller also details his location – he was near Tioga, Texas, 60 miles north of Dallas – and says the man he found "appears to be non-responsive" and notes "a couple of cones scattered" by the man.

The caller also reports seeing "two lights," saying, "I don't know if I can verify if they are headlights or not. ... They are bright."

Asks the 911 operator: "Do you think possibly he could have had a wreck?"

Rattled, the breathless caller tells the operator, "I really am scared," and says, "I want to stay in [my] vehicle."

Travis, 53, had "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" on his breath, according to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. When police found the beleaguered country singer, he refused to give a blood or breath test for alcohol and also threatened "to shoot and kill" police officers working the case, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

He was held on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated and a felony of retaliation – and was later released after posting $21,500 bail and being issued paper clothing.
