When it comes to tennis – and fashion! – Serena Williams knows how to serve.

The 30-year-old tennis champion is in New York for the U.S. Open and when she isn't competing on the court, she's been shopping!

The gold medalist was spotted at the MCM Shops at the Plaza Hotel on Monday.

"She purchased three classic MCM Cognac Visetos bags," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Including the flight bag, shopper and drawstring."
