Cowabunga! Dogs Surf for a Good Cause
The waves were ruff in Huntington Beach, Calif., this weekend at the fourth annual Surf City Surf Dog competition, where 46 dogs hopped on surfboards and went riding – all in the name of charity.

But the surf, with waves from three to four feet, didn't faze pups like Joey (pictured), who won first place in the small dog category Sunday and garnered lots of cheers from his supporters at the Westie Rescue of Orange County and Beyond.

Sadly, according to The Orange County Register, the strong current did foil an attempt at a Guinness World Record. Twenty pups tried to ride a wave for five seconds on the same surfboard, but alas, the stunt ended in a wipeout. There's always next year, guys!
