The Lone Ranger: Will You Watch It?

Disney is giving eager fans a sneak peek of its highly anticipated film, The Lone Ranger, by releasing its first trailer on Thursday.

The action-packed Western – starring Johnny Depp, 49, as Tonto, and Armie Hammer, 26, as the title character – doesn't hit theaters until July 2013, but it has been in the works since 2002.

The film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, is based on the popular radio show and TV series of the same name that featured a pair of pals fighting injustice in the American Old West.



In March, fans got a first look at Depp wearing elaborate face paint to play Hammer's Native American sidekick.
