Natina Reed, a member of the R&B singing trio Blaque, was fatally hit by a car as she walked on a Georgia state highway in an Atlanta suburb Friday night, police tell Reuters.

She was 32, and Sunday would have been her birthday.

The driver of the vehicle called 911 and a passenger performed CPR, but Reed was pronounced dead upon arrival at an area medical center, police said.

According to Gwinnett County Police Sergeant Rich Long, authorities, who are looking into why the singer was on the road, said the driver was not at fault. No charges are expected to be filed.

Reed, a New York City native, is survived by her son, Tren Brown, 10. His father is the rapper Kurupt, who said in a statement to MTV News: "Myself and Tren, Natina's son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time. This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person, and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did."

Reed and fellow group members – Shamari Fears DeVoe and Brandi Williams – were responsible for the 1999 hits "Bring It All to Me" and "808." The two survivors said in a statement Saturday that Blaque had recently reunited to work on an album and a reality show.

In 2000, Reed also appeared in the cheerleading competition movie Bring It On.

"My world as I know it has forever changed," DeVoe Tweeted on Saturday. "Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina." Bring It On costar Gabrielle Union Tweeted, "#RIP #Sad #BringItOn."
