The Voice: Christina Aguilera Makes Surprising Cut in Knockouts

Christina Aguilera had the difficult choice between Laura Vivas, who kicked up her rendition of Marc Anthony's "I Need to Know" with feisty dance moves and a dash of Spanish lyrics, and Devyn DeLoera, who gave a solid performance of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing." The crowd went wild for Vivas, but Aguilera shocked many, including fellow contestants, when she declared that DeLoera had out-performed her.
Joining Vivas in celebration were Adriana Louise, Dez Duron, De'borah and Sylvia Yacoub.
Song choice ultimately determined the fate of singers on Blake Shelton's team. Suzanna Choffel took a bold chance with a light, bubbly take on Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved," but her performance couldn't hold up to Cassadee Pope's powerful performance of Maroon 5's "Payphone."
To Shelton's surprise, Rudy Parris chose Chris Brown's "Forever," for his knockout round in a move that the coach feared would put him at a disadvantage because of the song's youthful sound. Shelton's prediction proved true when Terry McDermott took the stage and gave a soulful and lively performance of a more mature song, Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed."
Liz Davis, Michaela Paige and Julio Cesar Castillo will also remain on Team Blake.
