First, she spent two hours doing early Christmas shopping Wednesday at a children's charity bazaar at the Burlington Arcade in Mayfair, accompanied by her and Prince William's dog Lupo, as well as her sister Pippa Middleton.
"Kate was absolutely gorgeous, so friendly. There were many of our lowly fundraising team there and she was so warm to them," says Paul Abbott, the charity's fundraising and communications director.
Cocker spaniel Lupo, who guzzled canapés and anything else he could find, proved to be a star, too. "Many people were excited by the puppy," adds Abbott. "He was eating sausages, and anything that got dropped he was sniffing up."
Their presence helped to raise about $24,000 for Ormiston Children and Families Trust, which helps youngsters who are caught up in challenging and traumatic circumstances.
Come Thursday evening, it was another fundraiser – this time at St. Andrews, with William by her side and a familiar dress on. (Just not THAT famous see-through number she wore for a university event ago!)
Instead, Kate, 30, recycled her lacy Alice by Temperley dress that she originally wore to the War Horse premiere last spring. Still, she had a sense of humor about the history and was heard at dinner at the historic Middle Temple Inn commenting to a current student: "I hope you weren't involved in the fashion show, you never know what you are going to be asked to wear!"
The couple met at the Scottish university in 2001 and began dating soon after she caught his eye at the aforementioned fashion show.
William, a patron of the university's $160 million 600th anniversary fundraising appeal to offer scholarships, spoke of his "happy, happy memories" there and of Kate, whom he called his "art guru" and is "much better at [art history] than me." The evening raised around $560,000.
