Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Dispel Pregnancy Rumors with Hilarious Tweets
With buzz mounting about the country music power couple expecting their first child, the singers have quashed pregnancy rumors with the help of Twitter and a healthy sense of humor.
"Wow! I just read the headline! 'We are having a baby' yay! @blakeshelton we're getting a new puppy? :)" Lambert, 28, Tweeted Wednesday.
"Don't believe everything you read! I'm having a big 'randarita' right now in honor of the baby we are not yet having! #Sorryfolksparksclosed," she also wrote later that day.
While Lambert set the record straight with her 1.6 million followers, her husband Shelton, 36, had a little more fun at schooling his fans.
When asked by a follower if Lambert was expecting, the "Cheers, it's Christmas" singer confessed to being equally confused.
"'@Taylor96: Wait is @Miranda_Lambert pregnant? #confused.' Either that or Reese had my baby ... I'm confused too!!" he Tweeted.
And when another fan expressed concern, The Voice coach was quick to let them know the couple hadn't traded in their partying ways for a new addition.
"'@thesheltonss: Blake you can't do this to us is she pregnant?!?!?' I hope not … She's passed out with a bottle of Bacardi in her hands!!!" he replied.
Shelton at least seemed to be having fun interacting with his followers.
"'@BrashVixen: You're confusing me with this baby news!' Look, I know I've gained some weight but the test was negative!!!" he wrote.
While a baby isn't on the current agenda for the couple of 18 months, they are looking forward to a little quality time together over the holidays.
After winning big at the Country Music Association Awards earlier this month, Lambert told PEOPLE: "We're going home for Thanksgiving. We'll have four days there, and again for Christmas. We never see each other, so we cherish every moment together."
