"All Hail the Chief" isn't the only thing blasting out of White House stereos!
Michelle Obama – who is nominated for a Grammy Award for her spoken-word reading of American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America – is sharing the songs that are in heavy rotation on her iPod. (Psst: she's a fan of Willow Smith.)
Just don't expect her to sing along: As the First Lady tells PEOPLE, "Let's just say my husband is the real singer in the family."
Album that reminds me of home: "Talking Book" The first album I received was Talking Book. My grandfather, a lover of jazz,I gave it to me as a birthday gift. Jackson 5's albums were among my first that I bought with my own money.
Song I listen to with my daughters: Jill Scott's "Golden" Malia likes to turn me onto new music, so she often introduces me to stuff we end up listening to together. Most recently she got me into Elle Varner who's an amazing young artist. Also, Jill Scott's "Golden" – I used to play it in the car when I drove the girls to school each morning and we would sing it together.
Singers on My Workout Playlist: Willow Smith & Beyoncé "Whip My Hair" by Willow Smith always gets me moving – and it's just so inspiring how young and talented she is! I also love anything by Beyoncé – and of course "Move Your Body" gets me going not just because it's a great song, but because of the amazing video she did to help get kids active in support of [my campaign to fight childhood obesity], Let's Move!
My song with my husband: Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" Barack and I danced to "Let's Stay Together" at this Inauguration, and it was such a special moment for us. We had spent all day together with our family and friends at different Inaugural events, and at the end of the day the dance was really our one-on-one moment with each other. Well, each other and everyone watching on TV!
Song that helps me relax: Ledisi's "Bravo" Ledisi's "Bravo" really moves me. I used to listen to it in the car before campaign rallies because it both calmed me down and helped me focus. And she just has a really pretty voice.
My first concert: Stevie Wonder I went with college friends, had front row seats and Stevie invited us on stage to sing "Ebony and Ivory."
My Grammy Picks: Frank Ocean and Kelly Clarkson Album of the Year: Channel Orange, Frank Ocean. He's a young, innovative performer with a soulful sound. [For] Song of the Year: "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," Kelly Clarkson. It's an empowering song with a positive message.
