NJ Gov. Chris Christie Pokes Fun of His Weight on Letterman
On CBS's Late Show with David Letterman, Christie's weight is often a punchline – but during his first appearance on the show on Monday, the politician got the last laugh.
As he sat down for the segment, Christie, 50, recited his favorite Letterman jokes.
"Celebrity birthday today, Chris Christie turned 50, he blew out the candles on his cake and he wished for another cake," he read, deadpan.
"I've made jokes about you – not just one or two," Letterman began to explain, only to be interrupted by Christie – whom Barbara Walters named one of the most fascinating people of 2012 – pulling a doughnut out of his suit pocket and biting into it.
Through his chuckles, Letterman, 65, stopped to offer the Governor a napkin.
Christie, who seemed to be enjoying his leap into comedy, has said in the past that his weight is "fair game."
