Anthony waded through a crush of photographers and reporters to get to the federal courthouse. Inside, she told the court how she survives financially.
"I don't pay rent. I don't pay utilities," Anthony said, according to the Associated Press. "I guess you could say I'm living free off the kindness of others."
In her bankruptcy petition, she lists assets of $1,084 and debts of $792,119.23. She says she has no income but she also lists no expenses for rent and utilities.
It was the first time she had ventured into the public eye since she was infamously acquitted in July 2011 of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
One of the most reviled criminal defendants in recent memory, Anthony has been living in a condo in Cape Canaveral, Fla., since late last year. She's had regular contact with her mother and has reconciled with her father, George, who she previously accused of molesting her.
