On his recent mission to Africa, Prince Harry said he hoped his late mother Princess Diana would be proud of his charity work there.

He's now added another reason to live up to that wish – by assuming the leading role in a campaign to raise funds that will mark the 25th anniversary of the Halo Trust, the landmine clearance charity that Diana was linked with at her death.

In the January before her fatal August 1997 car accident, Diana highlighted Halo's work when she walked through the minefields of the African country of Angola, and was famously photographed with a group of landmine victims as they sat under a tree.

Halo CEO Guy Willoughby said in a statement that Harry's patronage "will help us to raise awareness of this important issue so that we can raise funds to recruit and train more deminers to get more landmines out of the ground more quickly."

And in one more announcement from his office at St. James's Palace, it was learned that Harry will add another patronage, that to help support the Rugby Football Union in its efforts to make 750 more schools self-sufficient at playing rugby in time for the Rugby World Cup 2019.
