Justin Bieber has finally fought back at his recent critics who have taken him to task over his behaviorlate concert appearances, cancelations and heated exchanges with photographers.

In a lengthy rant posted, then taken down, then reposted in an amended version on his Instagram account on Thursday, the singer defended himself, to counter what he called "countless lies in the press right now."

He particularly took issue with rumors that "I'm going to rehab and how my family is disappointed in me."

"If anyone believes I need rehab that's their own stupidity," Bieber wrote. "LOL. I'm 19 with 5 number one albums, 19 and I've seen the whole world. 19 and I've accomplished more than I could've ever dreamed of. I'm 19 and it must be scary to some people to think that this is just the beginning."

His post came with a photo of him interacting with his fans. He noted that while media accounts have savaged him, his family was supportive and proud of his success, even as one report suggested his grandparents were upset about the company he has been keeping.

"My family is beyond proud, and nothing's been said by them, my grandparents wouldn't know how to reach to press even of they did want to so that was a lie and rehab c'mon," Bieber wrote.

Later on Friday morning, Bieber explained why he revised his initial Instagram post, telling PEOPLE in a statement: "My post was only up for a few minutes but I realized right away that what I said at the end was wrong and distracted from what I was trying to say. I immediately deleted it and rewrote it so it would show what I was really feeling and those words are up now."

His own response to the world about his life came after his manager Scooter Braun also publicly spoke out to E! News about allegations that Bieber was not doing well.

"There's nothing wrong with him," Braun told E! News. "He's in a great place."

Explaining why there were two versions of his message, Bieber said in a statement delivered by his spokesperson to MTV News: "My post was only up for a few minutes but I realized right away that what I said at the end was wrong and distracted from what I was trying to say."

Among the comments he deleted was this (spelling his): "And to those comparing me to Lindsey Lohan," he wrote, "Look at her 2012 tax statements ;)"
