In White House Down, Channing Tatum plays John Cale, a police officer who takes his daughter on a tour of the White House only to realize he's the only person who can save the president (Jamie Foxx) from a violent invasion, Moviefone.com reports.
The explosion-heavy film comes from director Roland Emmerich – who also directed Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012. Tatum, 32, is no stranger to playing an action hero – he's also starring in G.I. Joe: Retaliation with Bruce Willis. And playing a dad should come naturally to the actor, who is expecting his first child with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
White House Down arrives in theaters June 28.
