Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
Sure, Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde live a jet-setting, bicoastal lifestyle, but don't think for a second that Sudeikis has forgotten his Kansas-area roots.
He's even made his fiancée
a fan of his hometown.
"She has adopted Kansas City," his mom Kathy Sudeikis told PEOPLE before Saturday's charity event, "Giggle With Gilda," headlined by her son and Wilde, adding that she recently bestowed her soon-to-be daughter-in-law with a hoodie that says "I love Kansas."
Still, it's not looking like they'll have a Kansas wedding. Jason is shooting down rumors the nuptials will take place in nearby Lawrence, home of his beloved University of Kansas Jayhawks.
"It's definitely not in Lawrence," he tells the Kansas City Star.
"It was never gonna be. I don't know how those things start."
As for where it will be, Sudeikis plays coy.
"It'll definitely be a wedding tour," he kiddingly tells the newspaper. "Everywhere you've heard that we're getting married, we are," he says. Tour bus and everything. "Lot of waving. Lot of pie eating."
That might work out well, considering Wilde's already tight with the extended Sudeikis/Wendt clan. (Kathy Sudeikis's brother is actor George Wendt, AKA Norm from Cheers
Kathy tells PEOPLE she recently introduced Olivia "to 11 or 12 female members of my family. We have a huge family ... especially on my side. And we are delighted that she has become a part of it."
The engaged couple participated in the "Giggle with Gilda" fundraiser featuring the Second City Touring Company, where Sudeikis got his comedy start. The event benefited the Gilda's Club chapter in Kansas City
, part of the charity founded in memory of former Saturday Night Live
star Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989.
