While opera singers Richard and Adam Johnson performed "The Impossible Dream" on the finale of Britain's Got Talent Saturday, a woman stormed the stage and pelted the famously cranky judge with eggs.
The Johnsons just kept on singing.
"I really don't like eggs," Cowell Tweeted, adding later, "Bloody hell! Just watched the Adam and Richard performance back. They didn't miss a note."
The egg hurler turns out to be Natalie Holt, a former contestant who was playing in the orchestra, according to EW.com.
"I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance," Holt reportedly said after the show, which was viewed by 13 million people. "I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do."
The Johnson brothers placed third in the competition – with Hungarian shadow-dance troupe Attraction winning the top prize.
