Breaking up is hard to do, but Hoda Kotb is back in the dating game.
Having been linked to lawyer Jay Blumenkopf, the NBC star went so far as to say on Bethenny Ever After
in February 2012 that Blumenkopf was "the real thing."
Only the real thing didn't last.
"You know what, I was with someone for two years," Kotb, 48, tells PEOPLE. "Now I'm getting back in the groove. It's really fun again."
Kotb's love life – a popular on-air talking point between Kotb and co-anchor Kathie Lee Gifford
during the Today
show's 4th hour – says she's in a good place and focused on the future.
"I heard Anderson Cooper's mom [Gloria Vanderbilt]
say this, and I'll never forget it: 'I always believe my next great love is around the corner.' And I tell you, when you think about that – there's something coming around," says Kotb.
"Just keep your eyes open. I've just started dating again, and it's really been great."
