For all the emotion amid the bloodshed on Sunday night's season premiere of True Blood, there's even more to come on the HBO vampire hit.

Carrie Preston, who plays waitress Arlene Bellefleur, revealed on the Live From the Set lead-in to the episode that "there were real tears" when they filmed this season.

With speculation that Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Viking vampire Eric Northman, is killed off this season, fans are buzzing about an upcoming episode that features a funeral. Carrie added fuel to the speculation fire, saying, "We had this one table read, the first time we were hearing the script out loud, and one of the actors started crying and then everybody joined in. It was a pretty beautiful moment."

Todd Lowe, who plays her husband Terry, told Today.com that "there is a major death" on the horizon for one of Bon Temps' beloved characters.

"It was just a big surprise," he said. "I had gotten the script late and hadn't looked into it, so I was kind of like, 'Oh! Wow! That's different.' It saddened a lot of people."
