Paula Deen might be experiencing the worst month of her career, but that didn't stop this Southern mama from celebrating her firstborn's birthday.

The struggling celebrity cook, who has watched her edible empire crumble this month following her admission that she used a racial slur multiple times in her past, took a break from the scandal Friday for some family time.

"Looking forward to some quality family time in honor of @jamie_deen's birthday. Have a blessed birthday, son!" she Tweeted, and included a link to a recipe for Jamie's Coconut Cake.

The Tweet caps an end to a horrific professional week for Deen, 66, who quickly lost deals with companies including Walmart, J.C. Penney, Target, Kmart, Sears, Ballantine Books, Caesars Entertainment, Smithfield Foods. The previous week, the Food Network dropped her after their 11 years together.

Birthday boy Jamie Deen, who turned 46 on Saturday, has repeatedly defended him mom during the scandal.

"Really proud of my mom. It was hard for me to watch and harder for her to do. I love you mom," he Tweeted on June 26th.

On Tuesday, he and brother Bobby Deen appeared on CNN's New Day and were adamant that their mother is no racist, and did not regularly use the N-word.

"We weren't raised in a home where that word was used," Bobby Deen told CNN. "Our mother is one of the most compassionate, good-hearted, empathetic people that you'd ever meet."
