Sparrow has some serious self-control! The sweet American pit bull terrier can resist the urge to eat food off of your plate, should you ever leave it unattended. In addition to being polite, Sparrow knows a slew of commands, including sit, lay down, paw, roll-over and leave it – all of which he learned in his previous life.
Adopted when he was just a puppy, Sparrow was eventually joined by two other dogs, and his owner could no longer give him the exercise he so desperately needed. Two years ago, he was overweight and hairless when he was taken in by the Underdog ResQ of Framingham, Mass.; the organization helped him get diagnosed and treated for hypothyroidism.
Now a healthy weight, Sparrow, who has bounced from foster to foster, needs daily exercise and a permanent someone to cuddle with.
"He's a good boy, he's very lovable," says Lina Haimelin, president of the rescue. "He's very smart and very eager to please."
