What do Courteney Cox and Eddie Murphy have in common?

According to former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribiero, they both inspired his iconic Carlton dance.

The actor, who played Carlton Banks on the show, told Buzzfeed his crazed dance moves weren't just something he made up the moment he heard Tom Jones singing "It's Not Unusual."

"There was a video of Bruce Springsteen and Courteney Cox called 'Dancing in the Dark,' and Bruce Springsteen pulls her up onto the stage and she basically does that dance," the 41-year-old explained.

The former breakdancer also got some inspiration from Eddie Murphy's "white man dance" from his Delirious comedy video.

"What I did was ultimately take those two dances and combined them and made it my own, and made it my character's," said Ribeiro, who recently reprised the dance with his pal Will Smith and Will's son, Jaden.
