Country star Dierks Bentley gave more than a musical tribute to the families of 19 firemen who died in Arizona
last month – he helped raise nearly a half-million dollars.
Monday night, the Phoenix native hosted the Country Cares Concert
in Prescott Valley, Ariz., joining Randy Houser, The Band Perry and David Nail.
The evening included a special version of Bentley's song "Home" with a bagpipe intro by the Rural Metro Pipe and Drum Corp., as well as a photo tribute to the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
Brendan McDonough, the sole survivor of the 20-member Hotshot firefighting crew, joined Bentley on stage when he presented a check for $476,000 on behalf of the Country Cares concert.
"Amazing night!" Houser Tweeted
after the show. "I am very proud to have been a part of this!"
