Before radio host Kidd Kraddick passed away at 53, he interviewed some of the biggest names in pop culture.

Take a look back at a few of the standouts – from Selena Gomez to the guys of Hanson – during his career on the air. Kraddick, who died at a charity golf event near New Orleans on Saturday, always managed to bring out smiles in his guests.

One Direction

The crew of five may be the male pop group of today, but when it came to their knowledge of boy bands from the past, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan couldn't carry a tune to Kraddick. Playing BBMak's '99 tune "Back Here" to Malik and Horan, Kraddick stumped the hunks. They were able to recognize 'N Sync's "I Want You Back," but when it came to singing along, it was a no-go.

The Wanted

During his time on-air, Kraddick also chatted up The Wanted as they discussed if they liked going by that "boy band" title. They also revealed that 6,000 people auditioned to be a part of their group!

Hanson

And the male madness continued! Kraddick excitedly spoke to the trio about their wild fan base, noting the 22 people who were treated for minor injuries just trying to get into one of their shows. He even got them to speak about a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson encounter.

Ed Sheeran

Taking a break from the boy bands, Kraddick chatted with Sheeran, who explained he's not quite a party animal. "I think Vegas is perfect for five hours, and then you realize where you are," the musician said during the Sin City interview.

Selena Gomez

The lighthearted host managed to turn an interview with the then-tween sensation into a chat about Jennifer Aniston. But nevertheless, Gomez was still able to promote Monte Carlo and gush about her costar, Leighton Meester.
