Logan Stevenson may only be 2 years old, but he has helped redefine the meaning of "best man."

In Saturday's heartbreaking yet hopeful wedding of his parents, Pennsylvania couple Sean Stevenson and Christine Swidorsky, the bride walked down the aisle holding the best man: Logan, who suffers a rare fatal disease, reports NBC Pittsburgh affiliate WPXI.

"This is our dream come true. All our family together and we're all together celebrating, the celebration of my son's life and the celebration of our marriage," Swidorsky said.

Logan has Fanconi anemia, which often causes cancer. He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at 14 months old and had a stem-cell transplant a year ago. He lost one kidney to a tumor in March and now has a mass on his other kidney.

Last week, doctors told the couple the boy had only two to three more weeks to live.

"We had been planning a wedding – we were starting to look for halls, but we decided to have it now so Logan could be a part of it, so he could be in the pictures – so it could be something our family did together," his parents told Today on Friday.

The wedding, an intimate backyard affair shared with family and friends, was held on short notice, thanks in large part to donations from members of the community and local businesses.

The best man wore a tan pinstriped suit and was with his parents as they said their vows.

Swidorsky's 13-year-old daughter, Isabella Johns, served as a bridesmaid, while the couple's 1-year-old daughter, Savannah, was flower girl.

"I just am thankful that I am able to bring my son home and have time with him and hold him before he goes," Stevenson told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, which first reported the story. "So in that sense, I feel lucky that I at least get to say goodbye to my son ... and tell him it's going to be okay."
