Sandra Oh on Grey's Anatomy

She's hanging up her scrubs for good.
Next season will be the last for Grey's Anatomy
star Sandra Oh
, after what will be 10 seasons on the hit ABC medical drama.
"It's been a great privilege to play the character of Cristina Yang on GA
, and I am both sad and excited to see where this, her final season will take her," Oh, 42, said in a statement, EW.com
"It was an emotional and deeply creative decision for me and I feel fully supported by Shonda [Rhimes, the show's creator and executive producer,] and the writers," her statement continued.
Oh, who won a 2006 Golden Globe for her role as the tough-as-nails surgeon, and earned five consecutive Emmy nominations from 2005 to 2009, says the decision to part ways with the show wasn't an easy one.
"Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go," she told the Hollywood Reporter

's fans. A rep for ABC says Oh's departure won't mean the end of Grey's Anatomy
"It's our intention to have Grey's
on the air for many years to come, with as many of the original cast as possible," said a network rep.
Meanwhile, fans will be eager to see how the writers will handle the departure of Oh's character.
