Kanye West Declares His Devotion to Kim Kardashian – to Her Mom

Want to know how Kanye West really feels about life with Kim Kardashian and their new daughter?

Then tune into the season finale of the Kris Jenner Show this Friday.

The typically press-shy West, 36, opens up to his child's grandmother during an hour-long interview and offers candid comments about his buzzed-about relationship with Kim.

Bottom line? He's apparently smitten – and tuning out the detractors.

"I could have people saying, 'This is going to damage your credibility as an artist or as a designer, and I say, 'I don't care. I love this woman,' " West declares. "Or someone could say, 'Everyone knows you don't like paparazzi. Why would you be with this person?' And I say, 'I'm being with this person because I love this person and she's worth it to me.' "

West even invoked his late grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr. (who died Aug. 10 at age 98), as one of the reasons why he's with Kim.

"My grandfather just passed and his whole thing was never about money, it was never about popularity. His whole thing was joy. Just joy, like having joy in his life. She's my joy and she brought my new joy into the world," he says to wild applause.

The new family all traveled to Oklahoma for Williams's funeral last Saturday. This was not the only close loss West has suffered. His mother, Donda West, died suddenly in 2007 after complications from plastic surgery.

Opening up to Jenner about the period after her death, West goes on to discuss how his new family has helped to fill a void.

"After I lost my mother, there were times I felt I would put my life at risk," he admits. "I felt like sometimes I didn't have something to live for. Now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for."

If that's not enough, West even threatens to jump on Jenner's couch, a la Tom Cruise's famous leap on Oprah Winfrey's former show.

"I just dreamed about being next to her," he says. "I keep saying it – I don't want to start jumping up and down on the couch, here."

"Oh, please," Jenner begs, kiddingly. "That would be so fabulous."
