They say the unlaughed-at life isn't worth living (or something like that), and these authors have taken it to heart.

Tell us what you think of the comic confessionals we're loving, and let us know what you're reading.

What We're Reading This Weekend: Make-You-Laugh Memoirs| Books, What We're Reading, Jenny Lawson

Leslie Baldwin, Account Manager
Her Pick: My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster

It's the true story of a woman who realizes all her cocktail party conversation is based on The Real Housewives and Jersey Shore. She sets out to broaden her horizons, trying new experiences she always thought she'd hate – like sitting through the opera and taking etiquette lessons. Lancaster is sassy and hysterical, and you find yourself rooting for her throughout her mission, mistakes and all.

Jonathan Michals, Technical Analyst
His Pick: My Inappropriate Life by Heather McDonald

The comedian and Chelsea Lately star has written a happy, funny, cleverly-worded expose about family and daily life. Smoothly written and sprinkled with funny punch lines and much winking, it makes fun of social niceties and contradictions. A fast escapist read.

Alicia Dennis, Senior Writer
Her Pick: Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson

Born in Austin and then shipped out with her family to what she calls the "violently rural town" of Wall, Texas, blogger Lawson blows her life randomly, hilariously wide open in this "mostly true memoir." (Among the high points: the pet raccoon her mother made pants for.) It's a book that should come with a spit-take warning.
