The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
star, 42, is engaged to lawyer John Bluher, according to a statement from the couple. The attorney has been re-Tweeting congratulations
to the couple on his account.
Bluher popped the question Thursday at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico. "Taylor was wearing a beautiful blue silk dress with an intricate metal collar and John was wearing linen slacks and a white linen shirt," according to the statement.
"The special engagement took place on the beach, just steps away from their ocean front suite ... Candles lined the path from their room to the beach, where John had a huge white tent filled with white roses and lillies and from the center hung a dazzling chandelier, the sides opened up to a stunning view of the ocean and breathtaking sunset."
"The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is where we fell in love, it was the perfect choice for this wonderful occasion" Bluher said. "Taylor was beautiful and never stopped smiling! it was an amazing evening, a ten all round."
The happy news comes two years after a dark period in Taylor's life following the suicide
of her estranged husband
, Russell Armstrong, in August of 2011. Together they were parents to daughter Kennedy, now 7.
Armstrong continued to appear on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
after Russell's death, and the show chronicled her sometimes rocky attempts to find her footing.
"I was a train wreck," she said following a breakdown
she had on camera not long after Russell's death. "I was on the Taylor Train and then it had a wreck. It was bad."
But a year later she looked happy and relaxed enjoying a PDA-filled brunch
with a man believed to be Bluher.
"I am so much happier than I have ever been," Armstrong told E! in February
of her relationship with Bluher. "I never thought I would feel this way."
"He is a beautiful man," she added. "I didn't think I would ever be able to trust someone completely. But somehow, he opened my heart and I let him in."
